When I was first starting out as a photographer I was trying to think of a project I could do. I wanted to build my portfolio and a sharpen my skills as a young photographer. I went to this construction company and asked if I could photograph their project. To my surprise they said yes. I signed a waiver and away I went. I processed my own film and made these prints in my primitive backyard darkroom. These are some of the detail shots that ran in a local magazine. The article was named the Missing Link since this was the only portion of Interstate 10 that was unfinished. Interstate 10 runs across the United state from Jacksonville, Florida to the East and ends on the West coast in Santa Monica, California. The project was shot in Aug. of 1987.
