It had been raining for days at home and I was feeling the need to see the sun. I had watched the weather all week checking to see where the sun may show itself. It was an early morning drive through rain and some snow but as soon as we got over the Cascades, the sky cleared with the patches of Cirrus clouds. We got to the location for a short hike to this lookout. The smell of sagebrush and pine filled the air and the sun warmed our bodies between the touch of a cold morning breeze. I loved the way the light was crossing across the cliff walls and that I could see Mt. Jefferson sneaking a peak between the two rock formations. It was good to see the sun, and to catch some fresh pine air.
